To brace for the take-off of its Faculty of Engineering, the African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), Abuja, has fortified its partnership with De Montfort University (DMU), United Kingdom, through a strategic planning meeting and facility tour.
The AAAU delegation visited DMU’s School of Engineering and Sustainable Development to discuss faculty development and inspect critical facilities that will guide the university’s engineering setup.

According to the Registrar of AAAU, Dr. Mustapha Sheikh Abdullahi, the collaboration forms a key part of the university’s plan to launch academic programmes in Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering, which will train the next generation of aviation professionals with globally competitive technical and practical skills.
“Our collaboration with De Montfort University ensures that AAAU’s engineering faculty will meet international standards in teaching, research, and infrastructure,” he said.
The visit also focused on identifying essential infrastructure, laboratories, and workshops required for the smooth take-off of the faculty.
The AAAU team included Dr.
Endurance Keyamo, Head of Aviation Business, and Dr. Joel Adams of the Royal Air Force, while the DMU delegation was led by Dr. Richard Cross, Duncan Hepworth, and Dr. John Asu.
Both institutions reiterated their commitment to building a world-class engineering faculty that will advance aerospace education in Africa.
