Air Peace Limited has bolstered its international operations with the acquisition of its fourth Boeing 777-200 extended range (B777-200 ER) jetliner.
The feat also cements its footing as a leading airline in West and Central Africa.
The Boeing 777-200ER, marked 5N-CEG, landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 3:32pm, after a flight from Teruel, Spain.
Its arrival was marked by a traditional water-cannon salute and a warm reception led by the airline’s chairman, Dr. Allen Onyema, who was joined by Executive Director Obinna Onyema, Chief Operating Officer Mrs. Oluwatoyin Olajide and other senior executives.
Air Peace spokesperson, Efe Osifo-Whiskey, told journalists that the acquisition fits perfectly into the airline’s bold vision of global connectivity.
He noted that the aircraft is configured with 312 seats, 26 Business Class and 286 Economy, offering passengers a balance of luxury, space, and comfort.
He added, Business Class customers will experience private, ambient seating with cutting-edge amenities, while Economy passengers can expect improved legroom and enhanced inflight service.
Describing the milestone as a game-changer, Dr. Onyema declared: “This aircraft marks a pivotal point in our growth journey and represents a decisive step in Air Peace’s global expansion strategy.”
He announced that the new jet will soon be deployed on long-haul flights from Abuja to London Heathrow and Gatwick, opening within the next two months.
“Air Peace is also preparing to stretch its wings to Europe, South America, notably Sao Paulo, Brazil, and the Caribbean, building on its groundbreaking direct services to Antigua and Barbuda as well as St. Kitts and Nevis”, Onyema noted.
The Airpeace chairman reiterated his airline’s determination to end the era of exploitative fares charged by foreign carriers.
“We are committed to giving Nigerians affordable access to international travel while making Nigeria a true hub for regional and global connectivity,” he said.
He also lauded government support, thanking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for policies that encourage indigenous airlines and praising Aviation Minister Senator Festus Keyamo for “inclusive measures that empower Nigerian carriers to compete globally.”
With its expanding fleet and widening route map, Air Peace is not just strengthening Nigeria’s aviation sector, it is boldly positioning itself as Africa’s bridge to the world.
