Air Peace has dismissed claims that its Chairman/ChiefExecutiveOfficer, Dr. Allen Ifechukwu Onyema, and Vice Chairman, Mrs. Alice Ojochide Onyema, are facing a tax suit from the Lagos State Government.
In an official statement, the airline said: “Neither the Onyemas nor Air Peace has been served with any court summons or official notification regarding the purported suit. The claim that legal proceedings have been ongoing since February, without service or formal communication, is quite surprising and shocking.”

The airline reaffirmed that all personal and corporate tax obligations have been fully met. “We remain in full compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
However, if there is any discrepancy in the computation of taxes, the Onyemas and Air Peace remain open to engaging the Lagos State Government to review and reconcile shortfalls if any, in the interest of transparency, clarity, and due process,” the statement added.
Air Peace highlighted the long-standing contributions of the Onyemas to Nigeria’s aviation sector, emphasizing their “integrity, resilience, and patriotism,” which the company says remain unchanged.
The management noted: “We remain committed to the highest standards of professionalism and will not be distracted from serving the flying public.”
Air Peace’s clarification comes amid growing public attention on the alleged tax suit, reinforcing the airline’s position that the reports are misleading and unverified.
