Air Peace airlines has confirmed a theft incident of in-flight theft that occurred on February 19, 2025, aboard Flight P47190.

The airline’s Spokesman, Dr. Ejike Ndiulo said the company, in line with its commitment to passenger safety and security, has taken decisive steps to address the situation and prevent future occurrences.

According to a statement released by Ndiulo, during the flight, a passenger was found in possession of a missing item following a comprehensive search upon landing at Port Harcourt International Airport (PHIC).

He said the suspect was immediately handed over to the airport police for further investigation and appropriate legal action.

He said: “Air Peace expresses deep concern over the increasing incidents of in-flight thefts in recent weeks.

As part of proactive measures to curb this disturbing trend, the airline is introducing enhanced surveillance protocols across its operations.

Cabin crew members have been directed to heighten their vigilance throughout flights, ensuring prompt detection and intervention in any suspicious activities.

Additionally, the airline noted that in-flight announcements will be intensified to educate passengers on securing their belongings and reporting any unusual behavior without hesitation

Reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy for any conduct that jeopardises passenger safety and comfort, Air Peace is recommending the blacklisting of the suspect involved in this incident.
