Air Peace is celebrating the first anniversary of its Lagos-London route with remarkable milestones trailing it.
The flag carrier has described the service as remarkable, supported with strategic expansion and significant contributions to the nation’s aviation sector.
The Head, Corporate Communications of the airline, Dr. Ejike Ndiulo who stated this in a statement noted that since its inaugural flight on March 30, 2024, it has successfully operated over 662 flights on the route, transporting more than 136,661 passengers.
Ndiulo noted that the milestone represents not just the expansion of Air Peace’s international network but a defining achievement for Nigerian aviation, proving that the country’s airlines can compete at the global level.
He said over the past year, Air Peace has continued to refine the travel experience for passengers, offering world-class services aboard its Boeing 777 aircraft.
The airline’s London operations according to him have stood out for their competitive fares, premium in-flight experience, and a range of customer-focused initiatives designed to enhance passenger convenience.
His words; These include generous luggage allowances, seamless airport transfers, premium limousine services in partnership with SIMPLAA UK, special discounts for students traveling between Nigeria and London, and exclusive passenger perks in collaboration with top brands like Samsung.
Reflecting on this remarkable journey, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, Dr. Allen Onyema, described the anniversary as a testament to the airline’s commitment to excellence and the resilience of Nigerian aviation.
“The launch of our Lagos-London route was a historic moment for Air Peace and Nigerian aviation. One year later, we have not only sustained operations but also thrived, delivering top-tier service, expanding passenger benefits, and contributing to the Nigerian economy. This success reaffirms our vision of making international travel more accessible and affordable for Nigerians,” he said.
While celebrating the airline’s achievements, Dr. Onyema also underscored the importance of national support, emphasizing that the success and sustainability of the London route depend on Nigerians embracing and patronizing their own.
He stressed; “Beyond its impact on travelers, Air Peace’s entry into the Lagos-London market has contributed significantly to the Nigerian economy and the broader aviation landscape.
“By increasing connectivity between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, the airline has created employment opportunities, boosted tourism and business travel, and reduced reliance on foreign carriers.
“Its presence in the market has also encouraged healthy competition, leading to better fares and improved services for travelers,” he noted.
