Speaking at Air Peace’s 10th anniversary celebrations on October 25th, the Vice President described the flag carrier as “a Nigerian product and a Nigerian pride,” that has hoisted the nation’s flag on the global aviation scene.

The event saw the distinguished presence of all 36 state governors, with some attending in person and others represented. Prominent industry leaders from diverse sectors also gathered, lending their support to mark the historic occasion.

Vice President Shettima, whose speech was read by Sa’idi Alkali Ahmed, the Minister of Transportation, celebrated the milestone as a reflection of Air Peace’s steadfast role in Nigeria’s skies and in the hearts of its citizens.

He noted the airline’s vital contribution as a connector of commerce, tourism and international relations, applauding its efforts to broaden domestic routes and establish Nigeria as a leading air travel hub in the region.

He further praised Dr. Allen Onyema, Chairman of Air Peace, for creating thousands of jobs for Nigerians and providing opportunities that extend across borders.

Shettima further praised Air Peace’s strength in weathering industry challenges, noting that “Air Peace has displayed an exceptional level of resilience that speaks to the strength of its leadership and workforce.”

He also emphasised the federal government’s commitment to protecting the Air Peace brand and ensuring its continued success in the aviation sector.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s aviation sector, the Vice President referenced the recent approval of the Cape Town Convention on aviation leasing, which will reduce operational costs and foster competitiveness in the industry.

This policy, he emphasized, will empower airlines like Air Peace to continue expanding and thriving.

The Vice President further disclosed that Air Peace has always answered the call of the nation, recalling the airline’s pivotal role in repatriating Nigerians from conflict zones in Sudan, Libya, and South Africa.

The Vice Pr message leveraged the occasion to charge Air Peace to remain committed to delivering excellent services by putting its customers first.
