Air Peace has roundly debunked a report published by Sahara Reporters alleging that a cracked windshield on its flight from Akure to Abuja caused panic among passengers.

The airline clarified that the flight operated smoothly and landed safely without any panic or safety concerns, dismissing the claims as false and baseless.

In an official statement, Air Peace explained that the issue involved a minor crack on the outer layer of the First Officer’s front windshield, which was discovered by the cockpit crew during routine in-flight checks.

The airline emphasised that the crack was limited to the outer layer of the window, and that at no point was the safety of the passengers or crew compromised.

“The flight from Akure to Abuja operated normally, with no abnormal events. The aircraft landed safely at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, without any issue,” the statement read.

Upon arrival, the pilots performed their standard post-flight walkthrough and reported the crack to the airline’s engineering team, which immediately commenced the necessary repairs.

The airline reassured the public that all procedures were followed, adding that the cracked windshield was replaced swiftly and efficiently.

Air Peace also expressed dismay over the false report, condemning what it described as an attempt to damage the airline’s reputation by spreading misinformation.

“It is both irresponsible and unacceptable for anyone to peddle falsehoods about a flight that experienced no unsafe event. Such negative reports not only mislead the public but also undermine the efforts of an airline that is committed to upholding the highest safety standards,” the airline stated.

The management went on to assure passengers and stakeholders that Air Peace, as Nigeria’s leading airline, places paramount importance on the safety and comfort of its passengers.

The airline insisted that it operates in full compliance with all regulatory and safety guidelines, ensuring that no aspect of its operations endangers passengers or crew.

“Air Peace will never jeopardise the safety of its esteemed passengers. We have built our operations on the foundation of trust, and we will continue to prioritize safety above all else,” the statement concluded, urging the public to disregard any false reports aimed at discrediting the airline.

The airline reaffirmed its commitment to the highest standards of aviation safety, promising continued transparency and professionalism in all its operations.
