Soothing news for international travelers broke on Sunday as Air Peace unveiled booking for direct Abuja-Heathrow and Abuja-Gatwick services starting October 26 this year.

The move, described as historic, makes Air Peace the first Nigerian airline to operate direct flights from Abuja to both of London’s busiest airports.

The airline is offering round-trip fares from as low as ₦1 million, with a generous baggage allowance, making it one of the most attractive deals on the route to date.

Speaking in a statement, Efe Osifo-Whiskey, spokesperson for Air Peace, said the new route reflects the airline’s drive to make international travel more convenient and accessible to Nigerians.

“We’re excited to launch direct flights from Abuja to both Heathrow and Gatwick. This move makes us the first Nigerian airline to fly directly from the nation’s capital to London’s two major international airports,” Osifo-Whiskey said.

Beyond the low fares, what sets the new service apart is its domestic connectivity.

Travellers from across Nigeria—including Lagos, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Owerri, Kano, Asaba, Benin, Warri, Yola, and Gombe—can connect to London through Abuja using a single ticket, without having to re-check baggage or make multiple bookings.

“Passengers from London can also fly into any of these Nigerian cities every morning via Abuja, using just one Air Peace ticket,” Osifo-Whiskey added. “We’ll be expanding this network even further.”

The development provides greater flexibility for both Nigerian and UK-based travellers, and offers a distinct advantage to passengers who want to avoid Lagos congestion or need direct access to the capital and other cities.

Air Peace Chairman, Allen Onyema, described the move as part of the airline’s broader vision to compete globally while giving Nigerians quality service at fair prices.

“Our goal has always been to democratize air travel for Nigerians,” Onyema said. “We’re showing the world that a Nigerian airline can compete globally by offering quality, reliability, and affordability.”

Tickets are now available for booking via www.flyairpeace.com and through accredited travel agencies nationwide.

Industry watchers have praised the airline’s latest offering as a major leap forward for Nigerian aviation, especially in expanding international access outside Lagos.

With direct flights to two key UK airports, competitive pricing, and unmatched domestic coverage, stakeholders said Air Peace is once again proving it can deliver bold, customer-focused solutions that meet the needs of modern travellers.
