Air Peace, Nigeria’s leading flag carrier, is currently basking on improved operational timelines, a development that would endear it to its customers and place it in good stead in the industry.

Air Peace in a statement reported a 98% schedule reliability with 87% on-time performance (OTP) in September.

In a broader analysis, Air Peace said it scheduled 2,566 flights in the month under review (September). Out of that figure, 2,522 were operated, 231 were delayed, 96 were rescheduled and 27 flights were cancelled.

The airline, however, explained that 95% of the delays experienced in September were totally out of its control, blaming them on external factors such as unfavourable weather, statutory airfield closure, ramp congestion, boarding gate congestion and bird strike.

According to Air Peace: “When you deploy an aircraft for flights and just before departure, the flight crew detects a snag. The aircraft will not fly until the engineers do their checks and fix it. Air Peace will never compromise established safety standards. We pride ourselves as the safest airline in Nigeria and that is why safety consistently underpins every operational decision we make”.

The airline pledged to continually optimise its operations, anchored on a customer-first orientation and etiquette; and an entrenched safety and quality culture as an airline of choice providing a suitable travel experience for its esteemed customers across all its destinations.
