Nigeria’s flag carrier, Arik Air is fully in the skies with its full fleet as the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has waded into the airline’s rift with Atlas Petroleum.
The Spokesman of NCAA, Michael Achimugu, in a statement said the regulator sees the issue as a significant development in the aviation sector.
“The Minister has successfully mediated and resolved the recent conflict between Arik Air and Atlas Petroleum.
“As a result, two of the three Arik Air aircraft that had been grounded are now authorized by the NCAA to resume flights effective today. Passengers who were previously affected are now being checked in at airport terminals nationwide, signaling a return to normalcy in Arik Air’s operations.
“The NCAA remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring aviation safety, security, and an enhanced travel experience for all passengers”, he said.
Meanwhile, Arik Air management said it resumed full operations on August 8.
