Barring unforeseen circumstances, Arik Air will resume flight services between Lagos and Asaba, Delta State’s capital, starting Thursday, October 17, 2024.
The eagerly awaited route restoration follows the airline’s recent reintroduction of key connections; Abuja to Benin on October 4 and Abuja to Port Harcourt on October 10, 2024.
Spokesperson of the airline, Adebanji Ola, who disclosed this in a statement stated that the Lagos-Asaba route will operate from Murtala Muhammed Airport Domestic Terminal 1 (GAT) in Ikeja, offering flights four times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Meanwhile, daily flights will connect Abuja to Port Harcourt, and Abuja to Benin will be available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
The airline has expanded its market presence by increasing the frequency of its Lagos-Benin and Lagos-Warri routes to daily flights.
The reintroduction marks a key step in the airline’s wider strategy to reconnect vital routes that had been previously suspended due to operational challenges.
Commenting on the development, Arik Air’s Chief Executive Officer, Captain Roy Ilegbodu, said, “We are happy to extend our services once again to the good people of Asaba and its environs, who have been yearning for our services.
“We promise customers on all routes our commitment to uphold the high operational standards that Arik Air is known for.”
Arik Air is Nigeria’s leading airline, operating flights to major destinations in the country.
The airline will celebrate its 18th anniversary on October 30, 2024.
