The Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development and the Nigerian Air Force are working towards co-hosting the Nigeria International Air Show, slated for 2025.

This was disclosed by Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, in a statement.

The forged partnership, described as unique in the aviation circle, was solidified during a recent courtesy visit by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, in his office in Abuja.

During the visit, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar revealed that coincidentally, the Nigerian Air Force was already planning its own air show prior to learning about the Ministry’s similar initiative.

He added that on discovering the alignment of goals, the Air Force saw a golden opportunity for collaboration.

Recognising the advantages of pooling resources and expertise, he proposed the idea of a joint venture, understanding that a united effort would not only amplify the scale and success of the event but also position Nigeria as a formidable player on the global aviation stage.

The partnership, he explained, would serve as a platform to showcase the nation’s advancements in aviation and aerospace technology while fostering international partnerships and investments.

In his remarks, Keyamo lauded the Chief of Air Staff’s foresight and his gesture of collaboration, describing it as a strategic step towards showcasing Nigeria’s aviation and aerospace capabilities to the world.

He further highlighted the importance of synergy between the Ministry and the Nigerian Air Force in achieving shared objectives.

To guarantee the smooth planning and execution of the unique event, the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development and the Nigerian Air Force jointly announced the formation of an eight-member committee.

The dedicated team, comprising representatives from both organisations, has been entrusted with overseeing every aspect of the Air Show, from logistics and stakeholder engagement to fostering international collaborations.

The 2025 Nigeria International Air Show, stakeholders note, is designed to draw a global audience of industry leaders, including manufacturers, investors, regulators, and aviation enthusiasts.

It promises to be a dynamic platform for unveiling cutting-edge technologies, forging strategic partnerships, and unlocking new opportunities for the growth and transformation of Nigeria’s aviation and aerospace sectors.

This partnership positions Nigeria to host a world-class event that will shine a spotlight on the nation’s aviation and aerospace sectors while fostering economic growth, driving innovation, and elevating its stature on the global stage.
