Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), operators of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2), has joined the global community in celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025 themed: “Accelerate Action.”

According to a statement from the company, the theme serves as a great reminder that true progress in gender equality requires not just dialogue but deliberate and sustained action.

The company also noted it remains big in empowering women as it is not just an ideal but a fundamental pillar of its corporate philosophy.

The company said it recognises that fostering gender inclusivity was essential for driving innovation, enhancing workplace productivity, and ensuring long-term success.

The commitment is reflected in its policies and initiatives, which actively create an environment where women’s contributions are recognised, amplified and celebrated.

Speaking on the significance of this year’s theme, Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, Head of Corporate Communications at BASL, emphasized the need for decisive steps toward inclusion.

“‘Accelerate Action’ is a call to move beyond conversations and implement real strategies that break down barriers and create opportunities for women to thrive.

At BASL, we have consistently championed gender inclusion by ensuring women hold key leadership and decision-making roles, creating a truly balanced and dynamic management team,” she said.

She added that BASL’s commitment to gender equality is reflected in its efforts to create a fair and equitable workplace.

The company, she noted, upholds transparent hiring practices that offer equal opportunities to all employees, ensuring a level playing field where talent and competence drive career progression.

She said that by recognising the diverse needs of its workforce, BASL also promotes work-life balance through flexible policies that support employees in achieving professional growth without compromising personal responsibilities.

Beyond these, the company has made significant strides in placing women in leadership positions, fostering an environment where they can influence policies, shape decisions, and drive meaningful change.

As the world marks International Women’s Day 2025, BASL reaffirms its dedication to not only inspiring inclusion but also accelerating action toward lasting gender equity.

The company calls on stakeholders, industry partners, and the broader community to join in this shared responsibility of building a future where every woman has the opportunity to excel and lead.
