The Boeing Company, a global aerospace titan, has again reaffirmed its support for Air Peace, Nigeria’s flag carrier in an effort aimed at elevating the aviation industry in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

The endorsement accentuates Air Peace’s influential role in propelling Nigeria’s aviation industry to new heights.

To cement the relationship, a delegation from Boeing and Cranfield University, a renowned UK institution specialising in technology and management, recently visited Air Peace to conduct a five-day intensive training programme.

The move aimed to further solidify Air Peace’s safety culture and operational excellence.
Commenting on the effort, Harry Magui, Senior Organizational Consultant and Program Manager at Boeing Global Learning Institute, emphasised the significance of Air Peace’s contributions to Nigeria’s aviation sector.

He highlighted that the Advanced Leadership in Safety Excellence training would empower Air Peace’s leadership to seize future opportunities.

Magui underscored the paramount importance of safety in the aviation industry, stating that it is the cornerstone of sustainable business operations and a crucial factor for regulatory compliance and passenger confidence.

On her part, Harrison Debrah, Global Safety & Regulatory Affairs at Boeing, acknowledged Air Peace’s remarkable achievements in a relatively short period.

He expressed Boeing’s commitment to partnering with Air Peace in critical areas such as psychological safety, change management, safety leadership, crisis management, and just culture.

Also commenting, Dr. Fabian Steinmann, Lecturer in Organizational Resilience and Change at Cranfield School of Management, shared his enthusiasm for collaborating with Air Peace.

He explained that Cranfield’s focus on safety aligns perfectly with Air Peace’s priorities. By sharing best practices and lessons learned from around the world, Cranfield aims to contribute to the enhancement of Air Peace’s operations.

In his remarks, Dr. Allen Onyema, Chairman and CEO of Air Peace, expressed gratitude for Boeing’s support and reiterated the airline’s unwavering commitment to safety.

He emphasized that safety is at the heart of every decision made at Air Peace and that the airline’s non-punitive reporting system reflects its adoption of a Just Culture.

Onyema noted that the collaboration between Boeing, Cranfield University and Air Peace signifies a shared vision for advancing aviation safety and operational excellence in Nigeria and the wider region.

He added that by investing in training and knowledge sharing, the two organisations would work together to ensure the continued growth and success of Air Peace and the Nigerian aviation industry as a whole.
