Sales Manager at Yangda Drone, Garry Chen, has described Nigeria as one of the fastest-growing countries in drone acquisition, with vast potential for the development and application of drone technology.

Speaking to journalists at the recently concluded Dronetecx Conference and Exhibition, held at the NIGAV Expo Event Centre at Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos, Chen expressed admiration for Nigeria’s progress in the sector.

“Nigerians are hardworking and have great vision when it comes to drone technology application,” Chen said.

“We see a lot of promise here, and we’re excited about the direction things are heading.”

Chen praised Dronetecx, under the leadership of Mr. Fortune Idu, for its role in promoting drone technology and inspiring Nigerian youth to explore opportunities in the sector.

Yangda Drone, he noted, participated in the 5th Dronetecx Conference to showcase its latest innovations, including two fixed-wing drones capable of flying for up to three hours—suitable for tasks such as pipeline surveillance.

He encouraged Nigerian stakeholders to explore partnerships with Yangda, adding that the company is open to collaborating on local drone production to help grow the domestic drone industry.

“We are very interested in working with Nigerians to produce drones locally. This will not only help transfer knowledge but also accelerate the development of the drone sector in Nigeria,” Chen said.

In a futuristic context, he described the next level of drone technology as “very promising,” particularly for use in hard-to-reach areas such as mountains and remote terrains.
