The Managing Director/Chief Executive of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, has ordered a total halt to cash collections and transactions across all directorates of the agency, effective February 29, 2026.

In a memo dated February 3, 2026 and circulated to all departments, the FAAN boss said the directive followed approval by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on the cessation of cash transactions in line with the Federal Government’s cashless economy policy.

She stated that it had become “expedient” for FAAN to comply strictly with the policy by conducting all its financial and business transactions through approved cashless channels.

According to the memo, all cash collections in the conduct of official FAAN business “must stop” by the stated deadline.

Directors were directed to immediately put measures in place to ensure seamless transition to electronic payment platforms and other authorised alternatives.

The memo further warned that no cash transactions would be accepted beyond February 29, stressing that failure to comply would attract stiff penalties.

Management called for strict adherence to the directive as the agency aligns its operations with national financial reforms.
