The Managing Director/Chief Executive of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, has assured the government of Borno State of the Federal Government’s full support in its efforts to inaugurate the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport in Maiduguri on January 1, 2025.
The MD/CE made the commitment at a stakeholders meeting convened by the Executive Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, at the Government House in Maiduguri last Thursday, 14th November 2024.
Mrs. Kuku reiterated FAAN’s dedication to mobilizing its manpower and resources to meet the project’s deadline.
The meeting was also graced by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, who expressly directed FAAN to extend all necessary support to ensure the successful completion of the landmark project.
With resolute determination, Mrs. Kuku assured all involved that FAAN would not only meet but exceed the Minister’s directives.
She emphasised FAAN’s commitment to ensuring full compliance with both local and international aviation standards, while offering expert guidance and technical support to drive the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport project to successful completion.
Mrs. Kuku also commended Governor Zulum’s vision and determination, highlighting FAAN’s unwavering dedication to providing the essential technical assistance for this remarkable initiative.
FAAN in a statement noted that the convergence of government leadership, regulatory oversight, and industry expertise marks the dawn of a new era for Borno State’s aviation sector, setting the stage for enhanced connectivity, economic prosperity and regional development.
