The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced a scheduled power shutdown at the International Terminal 2 (ITZ-2) of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, from 1:00 AM to 4:30 AM on Saturday, November 16, 2024.
The temporary disruption, according to the Spokesperson, Mrs Obiageli Orah, will facilitate the replacement of the Bus Riser 11KVA high-tension panel.
According to her, the planned electrical power supply maintenance shutdown will be executed with minimal disruption to flight operations and passenger services.
She explained that during the maintenance window, Royal Air Maroc, which operates within the affected hours, will be relocated to International Terminal 1 (ITZ-1) for check-in and arrival (parking) procedures.
She added that relevant airlines, security agencies and concessionaires will be duly notified to ensure a seamless transition and continued efficiency.
While appealing to travellers, stakeholders and the public for their full understanding and cooperation, she said FAAN regrets any inconvenience caused by the planned upgrade.
She noted that the move empties into bolstering safety and security within the airport, assuring that FAAN will always elevate passenger satisfaction far above other considerations.
