In line with its pledge to elevate the experience of travel enthusiasts, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has unveiled a newly refurbished E Wing Departure terminal at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, alongside the introduction of four eco-friendly, CNG-powered buses.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, praised FAAN for its strides in improving airport services.
“This is a clear demonstration of FAAN’s unwavering commitment to exceptional service delivery for Nigerian travelers,” he said.
The Minister commended the collaboration between FAAN and the United Bank for Africa, describing the partnership as part of a wider initiative to prioritise “passenger comfort and entertainment” across airport terminals nationwide.
Keyamo also highlighted the significance of FAAN’s adoption of energy-efficient buses, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s agenda of promoting sustainable practices and reducing the nation’s reliance on fossil fuels.
“This bold step reflects our collective dedication to greener, more innovative solutions in aviation,” he added.
In her remarks, FAAN’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Olubunmi Kuku, assured stakeholders of the agency’s continued focus on modernizing airport facilities.
“We are committed to investing in cooling systems, equipment upgrades, and modernising infrastructure by 2025 to ensure Nigerians take pride in their airports,” she stated.
These efforts, Mrs. Kuku noted, are part of FAAN’s deeper strategy to transform airports into spaces that provide a positive, seamless, and enjoyable experience for all travelers and stakeholders.
According to her, with the unveiling of the refurbished terminal and eco-friendly buses, FAAN has signaled its determination to set new benchmarks in the Nigerian aviation sector, ensuring world-class services for passengers.
