In what may be described as bolstering institutional synergy and strengthening governance, the Provost of the Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan (FCAIB), Professor Jonathan Atungwu, has paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Chairman of the College Board, Honourable Tajudeen Lawal SOOKO, at his residence in Ile-Ife.
The visit, which was both congratulatory and strategic, marked the beginning of what both leaders described as a collaborative relationship focused on driving the college’s development agenda.
Professor Atungwu congratulated Hon. SOOKO on his appointment, describing it as a well-earned recognition of his capacity for leadership and longstanding commitment to public service.
“This visit is not only to congratulate you but to also reaffirm our commitment to working together in the best interest of the College,” the Provost said. “We are optimistic that under your leadership, FCAIB will witness remarkable growth and development.”
Reiterating the college’s readiness to align closely with the Board Chairman’s vision, Professor Atungwu assured that the Management remains focused on actualising the institution’s mandate of advancing agricultural education and contributing meaningfully to national development.
In his response, SOOKO expressed appreciation for the visit and pledged his full support for the college’s leadership and initiatives.
He emphasised his determination to leverage his experience and connections to attract opportunities and catalyse strategic progress for the institution.
“I am honoured to be part of this great institution, and I am committed to ensuring that FCAIB continues to thrive,” SOOKO said. “I look forward to working harmoniously with the College Management to achieve our collective goals.”
The Provost was accompanied on the visit by members of the college’s management team, including the Deputy Provost (Administration), Engineer (Dr) Adefoye Adejumo; the Head of Bursary, Mrs. Theresa Adeoye; and the Head of the Public Relations Unit, Mr. Samuel Abolarin.
The engagement, according to both parties, opens a new chapter of cooperation and shared vision at the Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan.
