In the face of unexpected challenges, Air Peace has once again proven its dedication to passenger safety and operational integrity after three of its aircraft were impacted by multiple bird strikes within the last 24 hours.

Undaunted by the disruption, the airline swiftly sprang into action, deploying its expert maintenance teams to conduct rigorous safety inspections and necessary repairs, ensuring that every affected aircraft is fully certified before returning to service.

The first bird strike occurred yesterday, forcing an air return to prevent any risk to passengers and crew.

Earlier today, two additional aircraft also suffered bird strikes, leading to their temporary grounding for thorough assessments and necessary repairs.

While such incidents are not uncommon in global aviation, Air Peace has taken immediate and decisive steps in line with international best practices to mitigate risks and uphold its high safety standards.

In an official statement, Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, Head of Corporate Communications at Air Peace, reassured the public of the airline’s steadfast commitment to passenger safety.

“As a safety-conscious airline, Air Peace prioritises the well-being of our passengers and crew above all else. In adherence to our strict safety protocols, we have immediately commenced the requisite inspections and maintenance procedures to ensure that the affected aircraft meet the highest safety standards before returning to service.”

Despite the operational disruptions, Air Peace has assured customers that its team is working around the clock to minimise inconvenience. Passengers affected by schedule changes are being contacted directly and provided with rescheduling options or alternative travel arrangements where possible.

“We sincerely apologize to our esteemed customers for the inconvenience these disruptions may cause to their travel plans.

While we are working to resolve the situation as swiftly as possible, we kindly seek your patience and understanding,” Ndiulo stated.

He further emphasised that every decision made by the airline is guided by its core principle—ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers at all times.

Dr Ndiulo added that Air Peace remains at the forefront of Nigeria’s aviation industry, consistently implementing global best practices in flight safety, maintenance, and customer service.

The airline has invested significantly in aircraft maintenance and personnel training, ensuring that its fleet adheres to stringent regulatory and safety standards.

He said the carrier was also collaborating with aviation authorities to explore long-term solutions to mitigate bird strike incidents at airports, which pose operational challenges to airlines worldwide.

He asked passengers seeking updates on flight schedules or requiring further assistance are encouraged to contact the airline via [email protected] or visit Air Peace’s official website and social media platforms for real-time updates.
