Following his retention as Aviation Minister, the Joint Aviation Trade Unions’ Forum (JATUF), a platform for all Aviation Industry Trade Unions, has congratulated Mr Festus Keyamo for surviving the sweeping changes carried out recently by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Keyamo’s Spokesman, Tunde Moshood, said the congratulatory message was contained in a statement signed by the forum’s Secretary, Comrade Hector Nnadi, JATUF commended Keyamo’s stout commitment to advancing Nigeria’s aviation sector and hailed the federal government for finding him worthy to retain his portfolio.
The union emphasised that his ‘survival’ was a clear testament to his exceptional leadership and dedication to the growth of the industry.
“Your exemplary vision and drive for improving the standards within the aviation sector have not gone unnoticed. We especially applaud the recent reorganization initiatives aimed at enhancing the well-being of passengers and all stakeholders,” the statement read.
The Forum also spotlighted the Minister’s commendable achievements, such as Nigeria’s remarkable 75.5% compliance rating from the Aviation Working Group (AWG) and strategic collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) aimed at advancing infrastructure development and aviation financing.
JATUF noted that these initiatives have greatly fortified the nation’s aviation landscape.
Additionally, JATUF lauded Minister Keyamo’s outstanding approach to industrial relations and operational etiquette.
“Your inclusive and transparent handling of challenging policy issues has set a new standard for stakeholder engagement,” the Forum noted.
“The leadership and members of all Aviation Trade Unions are hopeful that this productive relationship will continue and that critical issues will be addressed with the same dedication.”
The union said it remains optimistic about the future of Nigeria’s aviation sector under Keyamo’s leadership, expressing confidence in his ability to not only sustain but also elevate these accomplishments for the broader benefit of the industry.
