Stakeholders in Nigeria’s aviation industry will convene on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Providence Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos for the 28th Annual Conference of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC).
The theme of this year’s conference is “Aviation Survivability Amidst a Challenging Macro-Economic Environment.”
Originally scheduled for July 25, 2024, at Sheraton Hotel Ikeja, the conference will now be held on July 26, 2024, at Providence Hotel.
The theme reflects the difficult economic conditions affecting Nigeria’s aviation sector, including issues like limited access to foreign exchange, a weakening currency, high fuel and maintenance costs, inadequate airport infrastructure, regulatory constraints, growing manpower demands, technology upgrades, and passenger comfort challenges.
This conference will gather over 200 aviation professionals, including representatives from aviation agencies, security agencies, international and domestic airlines, aviation support services, travel service providers, and tour operators. It offers an opportunity for organizations to showcase their activities and engage with key industry players.
LAAC, Nigeria’s aviation media umbrella body, is responsible for ensuring effective media coverage and practice within the industry. Over the years, the LAAC Annual Seminar has significantly impacted Nigeria’s aviation sector by raising policy, management, and operational issues for public discussion, leading to substantial improvements.
Aviation and allied business organizations have also used sponsorship opportunities at this event to promote their products and services. The 2024 edition offers another chance for such engagement.
“This year’s conference is peculiar because it will focus on the industry’s survival and sustenance, a major subject of discussion in these challenging times,” says Mr. Chinedu Eze, Chairman of the LAAC Conference Planning Committee.
The conference will feature both physical and virtual participation, allowing stakeholders from around the world to take part.
