The League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC), Nigeria’s leading aviation media association, has unveiled plans for its 29th Annual Conference, scheduled to take place on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the Providence Hotel, GRA Ikeja, Lagos.

Beginning at 9:00 AM, the event is set to bring together key players across the aviation value chain to deliberate on the theme: “Aviation Financing in Nigeria: The Risks, Opportunities and Prospects.”

The conference is expected to serve as a high-level platform for conversations around the funding architecture of Nigeria’s aviation sector, drawing participation from policy makers, regulators, airline operators, airport authorities, financiers, insurers, service providers, and other key stakeholders.

Their collective insight will help shape strategies for sustainable investment and financial resilience in an industry considered vital to national development.

Adding to the significance of this year’s gathering is the planned unveiling of a special publication titled “Celebrating Champions of Aviation Development.”

The commemorative piece will spotlight individuals, organisations, and state governments whose vision and commitment have advanced Nigeria’s aviation landscape since the dawn of democratic governance in 1999.

Commenting on the event, Mr. Wole Shadare, Chairman of the LAAC Conference Committee, remarked: “Our 29th annual conference is not just another industry event; it is a platform for constructive dialogue and a rallying point for shaping the future of aviation in Nigeria through sustainable financing and investment models.

We are proud to be honouring those who have contributed immensely to aviation development over the last two decades.

In a show of broad industry support, major Nigerian banks and financial institutions have committed to active participation in the conference, recognizing the central role of access to finance in driving infrastructure expansion, fleet acquisition, and operational efficiency.

Similarly, state governments with ownership stakes in airports have pledged their support, affirming their resolve to work collaboratively toward the long-term development of aviation infrastructure across the country.

The conference has also received firm endorsements from aviation regulatory agencies, domestic and international airlines, ground handling firms, travel agencies, and a wide network of service providers, all of whom acknowledge the importance of deepening dialogue around the sector’s financial sustainability.

As LAAC marks nearly three decades of shaping aviation discourse in Nigeria, the 2025 edition of its flagship event promises to be a milestone in fostering new thinking, celebrating impact, and strengthening partnerships that will position the nation’s aviation industry for lasting growth.

With enthusiasm building and preparations in top gear, the 29th LAAC Annual Conference is expected to be a defining moment for stakeholders invested in the future of air transport in Nigeria.
