The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has celebrated the remarkable career of Mrs. Ijeoma Blessing Nwosu-Igbo, a seasoned public affairs professional whose more than two decades of service helped shape the communication landscape of Nigeria’s aviation sector.
Mrs. Nwosu-Igbo joined FAAN in August 2002 as a Senior Public Affairs Officer on Grade Level 10 and steadily rose through the ranks to become General Manager, Public Affairs, a position in which she provided strategic leadership in managing the Authority’s corporate image and public communication.

Over the years, she played a key role in strengthening FAAN’s communication strategy, enhancing public engagement and projecting the activities of the Authority to both local and international audiences.
Through effective media relations, stakeholder engagement and strategic communication, she contributed to shaping public perception of the Nigerian aviation industry.
As head of Public Affairs, she coordinated media activities, ensured timely dissemination of critical information and promoted transparency in the Authority’s operations.
Her tenure was widely regarded as one defined by professionalism, innovation and a strong commitment to excellence.
Colleagues also describe her as a calm and supportive leader who invested time in mentoring younger professionals within the Public Affairs cadre and across the Authority.
Her leadership style, built on collaboration and integrity, inspired many staff members and strengthened the capacity of the department she led.
As she bows out after years of meritorious service, FAAN paid tribute to a communications expert whose dedication and passion have left a lasting imprint on the organization.
The Authority described her as “a distinguished professional, an exceptional communicator and a valued member of the FAAN family.”
Mrs. Nwosu-Igbo’s retirement marks the end of an era but also celebrates a legacy of service, leadership and excellence in Nigeria’s aviation communications.
