Air travel between Nigeria and parts of the Middle East has been disrupted following ongoing airspace closures in the region, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced.
In a travel advisory issued to the public, FAAN said the development is affecting flight operations to and from Middle East destinations, leading to cancellations and delays on several international routes.

The authority disclosed that flights operated by major carriers, including Emirates and Qatar Airways, have been impacted, with some services suspended or rescheduled due to restricted airspace access.
Passengers scheduled to travel to affected destinations have been urged to contact their respective airlines for real-time updates on flight status, rebooking arrangements, and other necessary travel guidance.
FAAN said it is closely monitoring the situation in collaboration with relevant aviation authorities and airline operators to ensure passenger safety and minimise disruption.
“The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates as necessary,” the agency stated, while expressing regret over the inconvenience caused to travellers.
The authority appealed for patience and understanding, assuring passengers that safety remains the top priority amid the evolving airspace restrictions.
