To celebrate its 18th anniversary of uninterrupted services, the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2), managed by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), is flaunting a blend of infrastructural enhancement and a reaffirmed commitment to community upliftment.
To commemorate the milestone, a vibrant atmosphere greeted passengers at the terminal’s ticketing hall, where the soulful tunes of a live saxophonist duo filled the air, adding a touch of elegance and joy to the day’s proceedings.
As part of its anniversary highlights, BASL unveiled a brand-new 3D exterior signage, a bold, modern installation designed to enhance the terminal’s visibility and make MMA2 more easily identifiable within the bustling airport environment.
“Eighteen years on, MMA2 remains a symbol of innovation and private sector excellence in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
“The new 3D signage not only enhances the visual identity of the terminal but also improves access and orientation for terminal users”, Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, Head, Corporate Communications, BASL said in a statement.
Staying true to its culture of giving back, BASL dedicated the second day of its celebration to a visit to the Bethesda Home and School for the Blind, highlighting its ongoing commitment to social responsibility and inclusive development.
While addressing the students and staff of the school, Kola Bamigboye, Acting COO and Head, Space and Premises, BASL, remarked:
“It gives me great joy to be here today as we mark our 18th anniversary, a moment of reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to the values that drive us. Today is not just about celebrating our journey as an organization; it is about honoring those whose strength and spirit continue to inspire us.”
He recalled the children’s memorable visit to MMA2, noting that: “Their performance, appearance, and overall conduct left a lasting impression on all of us… it was in that moment that the seed was planted—a passion to find a way, however modest, to support the remarkable work you are doing here.”
In a heartfelt presentation, Bamigboye added: “Bethesda Home for the Blind has given hope, care, and education for visually impaired children, and your impact on these young lives is immeasurable… This cheque, though a small gesture compared to what you do, represents our heartfelt support… a symbol of our respect, and our commitment to contributing to a more inclusive, compassionate society.”
Since its commissioning in 2007, MMA2 has continued to set the standard for terminal operations in Nigeria, blending efficiency with user-centric innovation. The 18th anniversary not only celebrates a journey of excellence but also signals BASL’s enduring dedication to community, accessibility, and progress.
