Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, the operator of Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2), held a comprehensive year-end safety forum aimed at strengthening its safety culture and ensuring a seamless travel experience during the bustling holiday season.
The forum emphasised proactive safety measures, stakeholder collaboration, and continuous improvement in operational standards.
The gathering brought together a diverse array of stakeholders, including airline representatives, airport staff, and security personnel. Discussions centered on best practices in safety management, emergency response strategies, and risk mitigation techniques, all geared towards upholding the highest standards of passenger and operational safety.
“Safety is our top priority,” said Remi Jibodu, Acting Chief Operating Officer of Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited.
“By conducting regular safety reviews and training sessions, we aim to foster a culture of vigilance among everyone operating within our terminal.

The meeting emphasised the importance of collaboration, with stakeholders sharing feedback and offering innovative suggestions to enhance safety measures.
Special recognition was also given to top safety performers of 2024, celebrating their contributions to creating a safer travel environment.
Nafisat Adeniran, Head of Safety at MMA2, highlighted the importance of stakeholder participation:
“Stakeholders’ involvement and participation are critical in safety management. Our stakeholder-focused approach is designed to improve the safety culture across both aeronautical and non-aeronautical activities in line with our safety policy.
This proactive approach ensures that everyone is fully engaged in identifying potential risks and contributing to continuous improvement.”
She added, “This forum provides an opportunity to address concerns, manage expectations, and gather feedback, allowing us to identify risks from a broader perspective and implement measures for better safety outcomes. Safety remains our topmost priority.”
The event merged apron and terminal safety committee meetings to foster collaboration and alignment on safety goals.
The sessions reviewed incidents, clarified roles, and responsibilities, and enhanced coordination between committees to achieve a unified safety vision.
