The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO) has been honoured with the prestigious Aviation Ground Handling Company of the Year Award by Transport Day Media, in recognition of its exceptional contributions to the Nigerian aviation sector and a standout performance in 2024.

The award highlights NAHCO’s enduring excellence and strong brand reputation in the industry.

“It is a company that the Nigerian aviation community should be proud of,” said Mr. Frank Kintum, Chairman/Editor-in-Chief of Transport Day Media, while commending NAHCO’s resilience and leadership in the sector.

This latest accolade adds to a growing list of honours for the company in the past year, including the Champion of the Industry Award from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Aviation Handling Company of the Year Award from Air Transport Quarterly.

The award was presented on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the Transport Day Annual Lecture held at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, where notable players in Nigeria’s transportation sector were also recognised for driving sustainable growth and innovation.

Speaking on the award, Dr. Sola Obabori, Group Executive Director, Corporate Services, NAHCO Plc, expressed the company’s delight:
“This is well deserved because everyone in the aviation sector recognises the important role NAHCO plays in the industry.”

Building on its successful 2024 operating year, Dr. Obabori added that the company remains focused on delivering value to shareholders and further strengthening its leadership in aviation handling services.

He also emphasised NAHCO’s ongoing commitment to sustainable operations: “NAHCO’s continuous commitment to sustainable transportation initiatives is evident through its implementation of technologies and procedures aimed at optimising handling time for maximum productivity, while minimising idling time of ground vehicles — thus saving fuel and reducing emissions.”

“This recognition underscores the hard work and dedication of our entire team in integrating sustainability into our core operations. We remain steadfast in our commitment to providing world-class aviation handling services while minimising our environmental impact and contributing to a greener future for the Nigerian aviation sector,” Obabori said.
