The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, has praised the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) for its vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of air navigation in Nigeria.

During a working tour of NAMA’s corporate headquarters in Abuja, Dr. Kana described the agency’s contributions as “very strategic and pivotal in the nation’s economic development.”

He also commended the staff for their teamwork and commitment, noting, “Teamwork is the foundation of success, and your dedication will continue to propel NAMA to greater heights.”

Dr. Kana highlighted the alignment of NAMA’s vision to become a global leader in air navigation services with the strategic goals of the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s mandate to elevate the aviation industry.

Acknowledging the financial challenges posed by fluctuating exchange rates, Dr. Kana assured the agency of the government’s commitment to addressing funding concerns.

“We will work collaboratively with the Honourable Minister to secure the necessary funding to support NAMA’s projects,” he pledged.

In his address, NAMA’s Managing Director, Engr. Ahmed Umar Farouk, expressed gratitude for the Permanent Secretary’s visit, emphasizing that safety remains the agency’s top priority.

He revealed that some critical projects were 50% complete, adding, “We are confident that with the collaborative efforts of the Permanent Secretary and the Honourable Minister, these projects will reach fruition.”

Engineer Farouk also announced plans to begin constructing NAMA’s corporate headquarters at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, with the groundbreaking ceremony to be performed by the Honourable Minister.

The visit flaunts the government’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s aviation infrastructure and ensuring the sector’s growth and sustainability.
