The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has been lauded for its outstanding commitment to integrity, transparency and accountability in the aviation sector, winning the National Integrity, Leadership, and Development Award as the Most Efficient Aviation Agency.
The award was presented by the Centre for Ethical Conduct Orientation and Empowerment (CECOE) during the 2025 Summit and Awards in Abuja.
According to the organisers, the recognition highlights NAMA’s unwavering dedication to upholding the highest standards of efficiency, ethics, and professionalism.
“NAMA’s commitment to integrity, transparency, and accountability has set a new standard in the aviation industry, ensuring efficiency in its processes and overall safety in the Nigerian airspace.
“The agency’s excellent performance is a reflection of the exceptional leadership and management style of its MD/CE, Engr Ahmed Umar Farouk,” the citation read.
CECOE further described Engineer Farouk as “a visionary technocrat and reformer in the aviation sector who represents a rare blend of technical competence and ethical clarity,” adding that “his transformational leadership has continued to strengthen Nigeria’s aviation infrastructure and institutional credibility.”
In addition, the agency’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Dr. Abdullahi Musa, was honoured with the Individual Integrity Award for his exemplary professionalism in promoting transparency and accountability in NAMA’s interactions with stakeholders and the public.
“His dedication to integrity and open communication has been instrumental in fostering trust and confidence among NAMA’s stakeholders and the travelling public,” the citation noted.

Commenting on the awards, Dr. Musa said, “These recognitions reaffirm NAMA’s ongoing commitment to professionalism, transparency, and service excellence.
