The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, has formally matriculated 200 students into its National Board for Technical Education (NBTE)-accredited Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes.

The students were admitted into the School of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) and the School of Aeronautical Telecommunications Engineering (ATE).

Speaking during the matriculation ceremony, the Rector of NCAT, Dr. Danjuma Ismaila, declared the academic session open alongside heads of sister institutions in Zaria, including the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), National Research Institute for Chemical Technology (NARICT), and the Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology (NILEST).

Addressing the newly admitted students, Dr. Ismaila emphasized the demanding nature of aviation education, stressing that it prepares graduates for careers with global reach and responsibilities.

“Aviation training is rigorous both in content and delivery. It requires absolute dedication. Let me remind you that 75% is the pass mark for aviation examinations. This means you must be studious, attend all lectures, and comply with all laid-down academic procedures,” the Rector stated.

He also cautioned students to avoid all forms of social vices, urging them to maintain discipline and focus throughout their time at the college.

“You are here to build a career that meets global standards, and that calls for commitment, sacrifice, and character. I urge you to remain focused and steer clear of any distractions.”

Dr. Ismaila further assured students of their safety and security, noting that NCAT prioritizes the welfare of its students and maintains a secure learning environment.

With this matriculation, the NCAT boss said its mission of producing highly skilled aviation professionals equipped to meet the needs of the global aviation industry is fully on course.
