The Nigeria College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) shone brilliantly on the global stage as it scooped multiple awards at the Global ICAO Implementation Support Symposium 2024, held on May 2 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
The recognition was most fitting as the College, a training institute under the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development saddled with the responsibility of training pilots, air traffic controllers, aircraft maintenance engineers, cabin crew, and several other aviation professionals also doubles as a member of the ICAO Trainair Plus Programme (TPP).
Among the array of awards, NCAT was recognised as an establishment with the highest number of trained instructors for six consecutive years up to 2023 and the award for the highest number of trainees on ICAO training packages.
Furthermore, NCAT was inducted as a platinum member of the Trainair Plus Program steering committee, an elite group of just four-member nations globally.
In a statement, the accolades for NCAT was said to have been made possible with the support of the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, SAN.
