Nigeria has entered into a strategic partnership with DALIL UAE to introduce Advanced Cargo Information (ACI) systems across its airports, a move expected to redefine aviation security and trade facilitation in the country.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in Abu Dhabi by theMinister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, during a high-level mission to the United Arab Emirates recently.

Hosted by DALIL UAE at Abu Dhabi International Airport and the nation’s Command and Control Center, the Nigerian delegation was given a rare insight into world-class aviation technology.

They observed how ACI systems harness real-time data to fast-track cargo processing, detect high-risk shipments early, and strengthen revenue collection.

The agreement provides a framework for technical collaboration, beginning with feasibility studies scheduled for October 2025, followed by a phased nationwide rollout set for completion by the third quarter of 2026.

Keyamo described the deal as a game-changer for Nigeria’s aviation industry. “This partnership will not only strengthen security through early risk detection but also ease clearance processes, improve government revenue, and bring Nigeria in line with international best practices,” he said.

He emphasised that the initiative would enhance trade and help position the country as the logistics hub of West Africa.

DALIL UAE pledged its expertise and support to ensure the success of the project, noting that Nigeria’s commitment to digital transformation makes it a model for the region.

With the MoU sealed, Nigeria is on course to build a secure, efficient, and globally competitive cargo ecosystem, one that will reinforce confidence in its aviation sector and place it firmly on the map of international logistics.
