The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) honoured its 2025 retirees at a memorable send-forth ceremony held on 11 December 2025.
The event, led by the Director-General/ChiefExecutiveOfficer, Professor Charles Anosike, brought together management and staff to celebrate officers who have completed 35 years of service or reached the statutory retirement age.
Professor Anosike described the occasion as “a significant moment in the Agency’s institutional journey,” commending the retirees for their professionalism, operational expertise, and steadfast commitment to NiMet’s mandate.

“Your contributions form a vital part of our history,” he noted, highlighting their role in providing stability, institutional memory, and mentorship to younger staff.
He emphasised that the retirees consistently upheld NiMet’s core values, transferred critical knowledge, and maintained the high standards that define the Agency’s excellence.
According to him, their service has strengthened NiMet’s resilience and supported its steady progress over the years.
In their remarks, the retirees expressed deep appreciation for Professor Anosike’s transformative leadership, praising him for
“repositioning NiMet, improving staff morale, and championing reforms” that enhanced operational efficiency and the Agency’s national visibility.
They described his tenure as marked by innovation, integrity, and renewed institutional direction.
Concluding the ceremony, Professor Anosike congratulated the retirees, wishing them “robust health, fulfilment, and continued success” as they embark on new chapters in their personal and professional lives.
The event underscored the invaluable legacy of these officers and their lasting impact on NiMet’s mission and growth.
