Overland Airways has announced the recommencement of scheduled flight services between Samuel Ladoke Akintola International Airport, Ibadan and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, further strengthening air connectivity between the South-West and the Federal Capital Territory.

In a statement issued in Lagos on December 19, 2025, the airline said operations on the route will resume from December 23, 2025, with three weekly flights scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Flights will depart Abuja for Ibadan at 10:30am, while the return service from Ibadan to Abuja will take off at 12:00pm.

The Chief Operating Officer of Overland Airways, Mrs. Aderonke Emmanuel-James, said the airline was delighted to return to a route it pioneered over two decades ago.

“As the pioneer airline on the Ibadan route, Overland Airways is excited to return to Ibadan to continue the excellent flight services we have provided to the people of Ibadan, Oyo State and Osun State over the past 22 years.

“We equally wish to congratulate the Government of Oyo State for the extensive improvement works at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola International Airport, Ibadan”, she said.

She added: “We assure our esteemed customers of reliable and consistent flight services.”

Overland Airways will operate the route with its newly acquired 88-seater Embraer 175 aircraft, offering both Premium and Economy cabins for passenger comfort.

Ibadan International Airport was closed in March 2025 to allow for major upgrades of its facilities, paving the way for the resumption of commercial flights.
