Overland Airways, Nigeria’s longest-serving domestic airline, has proudly taken delivery of its second brand new Embraer E-175 jet.
This marks a significant milestone as the airline also announces the commencement of a new direct flight service connecting Lagos and Abuja, starting August 9, 2024.
The new service aims to provide seamless travel between Nigeria’s bustling economic hub, Lagos, and the nation’s administrative capital, Abuja.
With over 60 weekly frequencies, Overland Airways is set to enhance the capacity and efficiency of air travel on this vital route.
The flights will be operated using the newly acquired Embraer E-175 jets, configured in a two-class layout featuring both Premium and Economy cabins.
This configuration promises travelers a blend of luxury and affordability, ensuring comfort and convenience for all passengers.
Mrs. Aduke Atiba, Executive Director of Overland Airways, expressed the airline’s dedication to enhancing travel experience.
“The introduction of this new route is part of Overland’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for convenient and comfortable air services between Lagos and Abuja. We aim to alleviate the challenges Nigerians face on this route.
“The addition of the Lagos-Abuja return direct service to our expanding route network represents a significant milestone in our journey to serve our valued customers better, “She remarked.

She said the E-175, a state-of-the-art 88-seater jet, is known for its excellent performance and reliability, making it an ideal choice for Overland’s expanding fleet. Four more E-175 jets are expected to join the airline, further enhancing its operational capabilities.
Mrs. Atiba emphasized the airline’s focus on quality service, stating,”Whether traveling for business or pleasure, we welcome passengers to experience the comfort of our Premium Cabin. With the arrival of the latest brand new Embraer E-175 jet aircraft, Overland Airways is set to launch flight services to more destinations within Nigeria and across West Africa.
