In what may be described as praise for raised performance, the Managing Director/Chief Executive of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs Olubunmi Kuku and her management team have been lauded by the Presidency for taking the airports to the next level.

This was disclosed by Mrs.Obiageli Orah, Director, Public Affairs & Consumer Protection.

According to her, the accolades came when Kuku accompanied by her directors and management team, led a high-level assessment tour of Lagos Airport.

The tour included Dr. Hendrix Odige from the Central Delivery Coordination Unit (CDCU), under the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination and Mr. Haliu Mohammed from the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development.

The CDCU plays a strategic role in tracking the progress and performance of critical Presidential and Ministerial initiatives, ensuring their alignment with the administration’s overarching objectives, particularly the eight Presidential Priorities set forth by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Among these, the 5th priority; “Enhancing Infrastructure and Transportation as Enablers of Growth”; highlights aviation infrastructure as a cornerstone for driving Nigeria’s national development and economic prosperity.

To advance the mission, the CDCU works in close partnership with Delivery Task Teams (DTTs) across multiple Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

These teams are responsible for tracking progress, ensuring that objectives are achieved, and providing detailed quarterly reports on the status of key projects within the government’s strategic framework.

The visit to Lagos Airport is a vital part of this continuous effort to assess, monitor, and elevate aviation infrastructure as a fundamental driver of economic growth and development in Nigeria.

In his closing remarks, the Presidency representative expressed deep satisfaction with the remarkable progress achieved under the leadership of Mrs.

Olubunmi Kuku. Her detailed report, combined with an extensive tour of Domestic Terminal 1 (DT1) and the International Terminals at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, offered the visitors a firsthand view of the significant advancements made.
