Air Peace Limited has responded to recent media reports concerning the new legal charges filed by the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) against its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Allen Ifechukwu Onyema and Chief of Finance and Administration, Mrs. Ejiro Eghagha, insisting the duo are innocent as the charges preferred against them remain unproven.
The airline, which acknowledged the public’s concerns reassured its customers and stakeholders of towing the path of integrity.
According to the flag carrier, the charges, which expand on previous allegations of financial misconduct dating back several years, remain unproven and a such prefers to maintain presumption of innocence for both Dr. Onyema and Mrs. Eghagha.
The company expressed confidence that, through due legal process, justice will prevail, and the truth will be uncovered, ultimately exonerating the two executives.
The statement added that its legal team is fully engaged and working tirelessly on the matter, with both Dr. Onyema and Mrs. Eghagha continuing to cooperate with authorities as they have since the beginning of the case.
