ValueJet has stepped up its presence on the busy Lagos–Owerri corridor, announcing daily flights between Nigeria’s commercial capital and the South-East city from March 23, 2026.

The airline, which currently runs three weekly services on the route, will increase operations to seven flights a week, citing rising passenger traffic and the need for greater travel flexibility for both business and leisure customers.

The expansion is expected to ease travel planning for commuters who frequently shuttle between the two cities, offering improved scheduling options and reducing the constraints associated with limited flight days.

Speaking on the development, ValueJet’s Managing Director, Captain Majekodunmi, said the decision reflects the carrier’s broader strategy to deepen domestic connectivity and strengthen economic and social linkages across the country.

According to him, the daily operation will provide more reliable and consistent air service for professionals, entrepreneurs, families and other travellers who depend on seamless connections between Lagos and Owerri.

The Lagos–Owerri route remains a critical artery for commerce, education and family engagements, linking businesses and institutions in both regions.

By upgrading the service to a daily schedule, ValueJet is positioning itself to capture growing demand while reinforcing its footprint in Nigeria’s domestic aviation market.

Industry observers note that increased frequency on high-traffic routes often translates into stronger customer loyalty and improved operational efficiency, as airlines align capacity with passenger needs.
