Enugu Air is set to expand its operations beyond Nigeria, with the launch of nonstop flights between Enugu and Douala, Cameroon, beginning Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
The airline will operate two weekly flights on Mondays and Wednesdays, opening a new travel link expected to support business, family visits and economic activities between Nigeria and Cameroon.
The new service will connect Enugu’s Akanu Ibiam International Airport with Douala International Airport, marking the airline’s move from domestic operations into regional air travel.
In a statement, the airline’s Chief Operating Officer, Ugonna Agubuokwu, said the new route was designed to make travel between the two countries easier and more convenient.
Agubuokwu said the Enugu-Douala connection was not simply about adding another destination but about strengthening relations between Nigeria and Cameroon.
According to him, the service would bring businesses, families and opportunities closer together while making regional travel more accessible.
Under the flight schedule, aircraft departing from Enugu will take off at 12:45 p.m. and arrive in Douala at 1:45 p.m.
The return flight will leave Douala at 2:30 p.m. and arrive in Enugu at 3:30 p.m.
The airline said the schedule was designed to enable passengers travelling from Lagos and Abuja to connect to the Douala flights through Enugu on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Explaining the importance of the new route, Agubuokwu said the airline was focused on creating stronger connections across African countries.
“For business, for opportunity, and for the connections that matter, the Enugu-Douala connection will be making Africa and Africans closer than ever before,” he said.
The airline stated that the new route was part of its broader ambition to simplify regional travel and improve connectivity for passengers.
With the launch, Enugu Air will begin its transition from a domestic carrier to a regional operator, offering passengers a direct connection between southeastern Nigeria and Cameroon.
The new service is expected to provide an additional travel option for passengers moving between the two countries for business, personal and other purposes.
