The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Dr Abdullahi Musa, has been conferred with the Doctoral Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Human Resources and Strategic Management (CIHRSM).
Musa received the fellowship at an induction ceremony held recently in Lagos, where the institute recognised his contributions to public service, human capital development, strategic management and nation-building.
The Registrar of CIHRSM, Dr Minna Abell, said Musa’s professional and academic background, as well as his experience in governance, leadership, public administration and strategic management, contributed to the decision to honour him.
She described the Doctoral Fellowship as the institute’s highest membership cadre.
Abell also said Musa had brought his academic and professional experience to bear on his responsibilities as NAMA’s spokesperson, particularly in managing and communicating critical information about the agency’s operations.
“In his current role, Musa has applied the depth of his academic research and scholarly experience to the strategic management of critical information, ensuring that information dissemination within the agency is strategic, effective, educative and proactive. This has strengthened the communication of NAMA’s mandate, activities and interventions to stakeholders and the flying Nigerian public,” Abell said.
She noted that Musa’s work at NAMA had helped strengthen communication between the agency, industry stakeholders and air travellers by ensuring that important information was provided in a timely and accessible manner.
CIHRSM is a professional institution focused on human resource development and strategic management through professional education, research, training and knowledge sharing.
The institute said the fellowship was also consistent with its emphasis on ethical leadership, professionalism, integrity and excellence, particularly in the management of people and institutions.
Musa’s responsibilities at NAMA cover strategic communication, public administration, stakeholder engagement and institutional information management, areas which the institute said align with the principles underpinning the fellowship.
