The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, has once again secured its place among the world’s top aviation training institutions after retaining the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Training Centre of Excellence (TCE) Platinum Status for the sixth consecutive year, spanning 2021 to 2026.

The recognition, awarded under ICAO’s TRAINAIR PLUS Programme, represents the highest global certification for aviation training centres and is reserved for institutions that consistently demonstrate exceptional compliance with international standards.

With the latest confirmation, NCAT remains one of the few training institutions worldwide to sustain the Platinum Status for such an extended period, underscoring its consistency in delivering high-quality aviation education and capacity development.

The certification reflects ICAO’s assessment of the college’s strict adherence to global best practices, particularly in instructional delivery, curriculum standards, and the integration of both classroom and digital training systems.

Officials of the institution attributed the achievement to sustained reforms, effective leadership, and the dedication of its academic and technical staff in maintaining global standards across all training programmes.

The Rector and Chief Executive of NCAT, Dr. Danjuma A. Ismaila, was commended alongside instructors and resource managers for ensuring the institution’s continued compliance and performance at the highest level.

NCAT’s renewed Platinum Status further consolidates its reputation as a leading aviation training hub in Africa, reinforcing its role in developing skilled aviation professionals for Nigeria and the wider global industry.
