Air Peace has appointed Captains James Adaviruku Onipe and Ikechukwu Paul-Ugochukwu as Director of Flight Operations and Chief Pilot, respectively, in a move to strengthen its operational leadership.
The appointments take effect from November 1, 2026, according to the airline.
Onipe, who has nearly 20 years of aviation experience, currently serves as the airline’s Embraer 145 Fleet Manager, Trainer and Check Airman. His experience covers flight safety, pilot training, operational efficiency and compliance with aviation regulations.
Paul-Ugochukwu, who has 22 years of experience in the aviation industry, currently serves as a Boeing 777 Type Rating Instructor and Check Airman, with responsibilities spanning pilot training, technical proficiency and operational standards.

The appointments follow the elevation of the outgoing Director of Flight Operations, Captain Augustin Kamano, and former Chief Pilot, Captain Martin Okunpolor, to higher positions within the Air Peace Group.
The airline said the changes reflect its commitment to recognising experience, promoting career progression and developing aviation professionals to support its expanding operations.
Air Peace added that the new appointments would strengthen its leadership structure and sustain professional standards as it continues to grow its operations.
The airline congratulated the two captains on their new roles, expressing confidence in their ability to advance its operational objectives.
