President Bola Tinubu has appointed Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, as Director of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Directorate of Air Mobilisation for his 2027 re-election campaign.

Under the arrangement, the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Olubunmi Kuku, was named Deputy Director I, while the Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Farouk Ahmed Umar, will serve as Deputy Director II.

The appointments are expected to strengthen the coordination of air travel and other aviation logistics for the APC’s nationwide campaign ahead of the 2027 general election.

According to a statement issued by Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Minister, the directorate will coordinate air travel arrangements for designated campaign officials and personnel across the six geopolitical zones.

It is also expected to work with other campaign teams to plan movements, schedule flights and ensure the efficient use of available logistical resources.

The statement said Keyamo’s experience as aviation minister would help guide the directorate’s operations, while the appointments of Kuku and Umar would bring aviation management and technical experience to the team.

It added that the directorate’s activities would be subject to aviation safety requirements and applicable laws, with campaign operations kept separate from official government functions.

The APC is organising its preparations for the 2027 presidential election through a campaign structure comprising political leaders and designated directorates.
