The Managing Director of Skyway Aviation Handling Company Plc (SAHCO) Mrs. Adenike Aboderin has reiterated the company’s strong commitment to advancing education in Nigeria, describing it as a cornerstone of national development.
Speaking during an outreach programme at Mafoluku Grammar School in Lagos State, Mrs. Aboderin emphasized that the initiative is driven by the vision of the company’s chairman, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, who is widely known for his passion for education and giving back to society.
According to the managing director, the programme aligns with SAHCO’s core Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) pillars, which include education, healthcare, aviation value chain development, and economic empowerment.

She noted that education remains the bedrock of any progressive society, stressing that investment in science education is particularly critical for national growth and technological advancement.
The initiative, which began within the Mafoluku community, is aimed at improving the learning environment for students while providing them with practical scientific exposure.
“Science is the future. Any country that does not take science seriously cannot grow or develop,” she said, adding that the programme is designed to be transformative, innovative, and inspirational.
Aboderin also commended the support and cooperation of stakeholders, including school authorities, teachers, and the Lagos State government, noting that the partnership has been instrumental to the programme’s early success.
Highlighting SAHCO’s broader vision, she revealed that the company is one of the leading employers of science graduates in Nigeria and plans to expand its educational initiatives to nurture young talents.
Adding that the goal is to ignite passion for science among students from an early stage and equip them with practical skills relevant to the aviation and broader economic sectors.
She concluded by assuring that this is just the beginning, with more educational programmes set to be rolled out in the near future.
